Task 1 Proposal

INSTRUCTION




Progress

We decided to recreate the art directionof the game Jetpack joyride

we brainstormed few possible ideas for new art directions.

First, we did research on every aspects of the game

The new direction we decided to go for is dark, pixelated, sci-fi, and post apocalypse vibes so this is the moodboard that we made for new art direction.


New art direction narrative: Barry returns after discovering that the scientists he fought against were actually aliens, and they’ve been carrying out sinister experiments all along. FUELLED by vengeance, Barry takes on a relentless, John Wick or Skyfall-esque mission to stop them. In line with this new tone, we thought it would be impactful to modify the game’s title on the home screen. The word ‘Joyride’ would have ‘joy’ struck through and replaced with ‘rage,’ representing Barry’s revenge-driven return.


So after we decided new art direction and got clear ideas of what we need, we split the task 

character design: Hayato

environment design: Ayshan

ui design: Viola

This is the first idea that I made, so for Barry I changed his face expression and the color of his outfit to show his anger but i got the feedback that It might blends in on a red background we made.

For the scientists, I just put the blood splatter on their outfit to show the chaotic situation but i got feedback that it doesn't really align with the post apocalyptic vibe.
