REFLECTION

Experiences

Collaborating with both design and business students in this module provided a unique and enriching experience. Working in a multidisciplinary team allowed me to see how different perspectives and skills come together to create a cohesive project. From brainstorming the concept of healthy cup noodles to refining the packaging and brand identity, every stage of the project was a blend of creativity and strategy. Despite facing challenges like aligning ideas and managing tight deadlines, the process taught me the importance of teamwork, adaptability, and effective communication.

Observations

One of the key observations I made was how different disciplines approach problem-solving. The business students were focused on market feasibility and profitability, while we, as design students, concentrated on aesthetics, branding, and user experience. I noticed that successful collaboration relied on finding a middle ground between practicality and creativity. Additionally, the competitive analysis of brands like Maggi and Mamee highlighted the importance of understanding market positioning and consumer expectations in building a unique and compelling product.

Findings

Through this project, I realized the value of designing with purpose and clarity. For instance, creating the mascot, packaging, and advertisements required not only creativity but also a deep understanding of our brand's vision: to make healthy, convenient, and affordable noodles appealing to consumers. I learned that clear communication of brand values through design can significantly influence consumer perception. Furthermore, the hands-on experience of developing a product from concept to execution reinforced my skills in branding, design thinking, and collaborative project management.
