Project 2 - Channel Bumper

For this project, we were to create a short channel bumper for any channel or brand of our choice.
So first, I decided to come up with 3 brands and do research. These are the brands that I chose below.

I marked the keywords that I thought I can use for art direction. And I decided to continue with uniqlo.

Art direction

I started to think of the art direction. Since uniqlo is representing simple but functional yet affordable, I wanted to keep my animation simple and neat.

Fig.2.1 Art Direction

Since Uniqlo symbolise the square shape, I decided to use square shapes as a elements in the animation. For the color, obviously I chose the colors that they used for the logo which are red and white.

Moodboard

This is the moodboard I made, Basically they all something to do with square shapes and red and white.
I used this to make my path clear.

After finalising my art direction, I decided to go choose background music first because I thought its easier to match the timing if i choose bg music first. So I went to the website called pixabay to find a suitable bg music. I wanted something fast and exciting and pop since its channel bumper and suppose to excite the viewer.

and this is the bg music I chose.

The original audio was 17 secs so I had to edit to make it fit in 15 secs.

There are the references I found in pinterest.

Progress

Fig.4.1 Progress "Scene 1,2,3"

I observed the reference and recreated the animation. I had to use SO MUCH layer and time because I had to duplicate the first 4 blocks and change the size and align them manually every time it gets divided. The proccess was so hard and long but it was worth the result.

Fig.4.2 Progress "Scene 4"

I made this scene using the 3d function and by moving the anchor point which I learned how it works in last project.

Fig.4.3 Progress "Scene 5"

This scene was also what I recreated from the reference I found in pinterest. The reference was in square screen so i had to make it fit in the rectangle screen I was scared it wasn't gonna look nice since its not in square screen but it turned out really well and I was happy with the result.

Fig.4.4 Progress "Scene 7"

I made this scene by using the repeater function which also I learned in last project. The repeater made the proccess way easier and made the result look neat so I'm glad I learned it before this project.

Fig.4.5 Progress "Scene 8,9"

I made the 2nd logo come out rotating behind the 1st logo and also made the logo tilt a bit to make it look more realistic and smooth.
